Scales of LIFE, a 10-Point Plan
Life comes and Life goes; from the very first beat of the heart to the very last breath, it seems to go on and on, where it ends up nobody knows; but like rain drops that fall upon the leaves, drop to the ground, get washed out to sea, evaporated into thin air, and then come back for a visit dressed in a new dew, a cloud, raindrops on roses, sleet in our eyes, or snow upon the ground; it cycles around and around, where it ends up nobody knows, not even the weatherman!!
LIFE is a present, not to be resented, but to be gifted, unwrapped, enjoyed, cared for, and spread around the world, for everybody’s enjoyment!! Pain, F.U.N. and Exertion, are by-products of our Human condition; they are intertwined with our innermost being, and nearly unavoidable; like those sneaky little potholes on a narrow one-way street.
Pain, F.U.N., and Exertion, are personal experiences which lie on a continuum, from low to high, and are often scored from 0 to 10 in healthcare today, because we like to grade them on a SCALE, so as to be able to document their impact and to be able to show progress over time. In my personal and professional experience, and as has been well documented in the scientific literature, Pain and Exertion are often inversely proportional to the score on our F.U.N. Scale.
As the level of Pain and Exertion goes up, the F.U.N. meter goes down; and conversely, as the level of F.U.N. goes up, the level of Pain and Exertion goes down. It really is quite a beautiful thing, almost like preparing a smorgasbord of foods, drinks, and desserts, for the upcoming Christmas celebration. As long as we are having a good time rock and roll in paradise, preparing the meal with family, friends, and good neighbors alike, it’s like no problem at all: it’s F.U.N., enjoyable, productive, and before you know it, here come the Grandkids; the Pain and Exertion are at a minimum, but conversely, the opposite can just as easily be true.
So, let’s plug-in and put some juice to the F.U.N. meter, tame the flame of Pain and Exertion, and set our minds on overloading the F.U.N. scale!! Ding-Dong!! Ring-a-ding-ding!! Answer the Door, Dinner is served!! Everybody sit down and Dig in!!” “CHEERS!!”
This is going to be a CHRISTMAS Celebration like none other!!
