“Red-light, Green-light!!"

Traffic lights are designed to bring order to an otherwise mis-directed and mis-guided roadway of traffic; they assign direction and timing to the movement of people through intersections; for the promotion of optimal safety, efficiency, and productivity. Pound for pound, Glendive, MT has its fair share of galvanized steel poles with boxes attached, which contain lights, lenses, reflectors, and an assortment of electronic components, to include timers, controllers, and sensors. These stationary, stone-cold, metal, and plastic traffic lights are necessary devices, but they have no inherent sense of flexibility, kindness, or even one touch of humanity.

In the year 2025, here comes the first of its kind "Living Traffic Light," represented by some colorful and coordinated Healthcare workers with a vested interest; these bright lights represent the countless number of people who go the extra mile, day-in and day-out, in doing their jobs. This traffic light all of the sudden does have a sense of propriety, kindness, and more than a touch of Humanity!! Glendive Medical Center is now home to its very own Living Traffic Light, where LIFE, Color, and Action, are combined to care, deliver, and share, their best with their neighbors; in their own unique and creative ways for the betterment of all of their patients, families, and co-workers!!   

The Red light says STOP, take a breather, rest up, and take a minute to gather your thoughts, before making further healthcare decisions.

The Yellow light says SLOW DOWN, look around, listen-up, proceed with caution, and be prepared for the possibility of yielding to other options for treatment. One size does not always fit all.

The Green light says GO!! This is your opportunity to take your new-found Good Health and lessons learned, to take that first step forward, toward a Lighter, Brighter, and more Beautiful future. CHEERS!! Buckle in, because here we Gooooooooo…
